Our Employment Model

The “Autistic Individuals in the Workforce” supported employment model enables individuals with autism who face challenges in entering the workforce to participate in working life and to work sustainably with the support of job coaches.

Developed under the consultancy of the Tohum Autism Foundation, this model demonstrates that individuals with autism can work independently and with high productivity when appropriate conditions are provided and they are supported through evidence-based methods.

With this model implemented by Eker, we aim for it to serve as a guiding framework for other organizations and to support the expansion of employment opportunities for individuals with autism across different sectors.

Our Goals and Objectives

“Autistic Individuals in the Workforce” It is the first job coach–supported employment model implemented in Turkey for individuals with autism. With this model, we aim to demonstrate that a system in which individuals with autism can participate in working life, grow, and receive the respect they deserve is possible.

In addition to this core objective, we continue our efforts in line with the following three main goals:

Employment

At Eker, we are proud to have achieved our first goal by employing 13 individuals with autism at our factory and headquarters, supported by 4 job coaches.

Scaling and Dissemination

We aim for the employment model implemented at Eker to be adopted and scaled by both the private sector and public institutions.

Advocacy

To ensure the sustainability of the job coach–supported employment model, we advocate for the involvement of public resources and carry out advocacy and policy development efforts accordingly.
